Neuschwanstein Castle

Built atop the site of a much older medieval fortress, Neuschwanstein Castle dates from the mid 1800s. The best views are from the valley below and from Queen Mary's Bridge (Marienbrucke), or from the (very steep) hiking trail leading up the mountain from the bridge.
