Burning Horizon

A passing storm over Bluewater Lake left a vivid sunset in its wake

Cloud cover was thick, and a storm was rolling through. But that afternoon, I rode my bike out along the rough little dirt road on the north side of the lake, not expecting to see much of a sunset. When the horizon lit up like this, I knew I made the right decision. Location was Bluewater Lake State Park, in western New Mexico, in case you're ever headed out that way on Interstate 40.
